ROCHELLE — Cooper Theleritis (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) fired a 76 to tie for third and lead the Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team to a second-place tie the Kishwaukee Invite on Friday at Fairways Golf Course.
The Chargers totaled a 316 to tie Sauk Valley for second. Black Hawk’s gold team won the tournament with a 307.
Theleritis matched his season-low to tie Sauk Valley’s Jacob Rude for third overall. Black Hawk’s Patrick Wiebenga and Luke Lofgren shared medalist honors with rounds of 74.
Calvin Peterson (Williamsfield, Ill./Williamsfield) also finished in the top 10 for the Chargers, tying for eighth with a 78. Cole Hopping (Vermont, Ill./VIT) and Clayton Phillips (New London, Iowa/New London) each shot 81 to tie for 15th and round out the Chargers’ score.
